A few days at Broome
When we arrived at Broome,we rested. We found a caravan park and booked. The pool was great. We had dinner of fish and chips on the beach at Roebuck Bay and watched the Staircase to the Moon. The next day we woke up and had breakfast. We did some schoolwork in the morning. Then we went for a swim again. We did lots of swimming that day and by the afternoon, our eyes were seeing fuzzy things. We went for a walk on Cable Beach at sunset – we saw the Staircase to the Sun – it was pretty. The next day we did more schoolwork and more swimming. We went to the Pearl Luggers Tour which taught us about how the first settlers of Broome used to dive for pearls. We saw the equipment they used. It was quite interesting. We learnt how they made buttons out of the pearl shells. Each of the kids got given a pearl shell at the end. In the afternoon we had a short camel ride. Mum and I went together, Our camel’s name was Jabby. It was fun getting on and off the camel. Today is our last day at Broome and we are about to go swimming at Cable Beach. I have liked Broome.
